What Decals Does A First Time Trucker Need?
First ask yourself, what regulation numbers and characters are required to operate my truck?
Depending on how you plan to operate your truck you might need some extra decals just to be safe and be up to code.
For starters, we always recommend to have your business or company name displayed outside of the truck (this is required), it’s always a safe bet to display the city and state you plan to operate out of.
You’ll also need a US DOT number and front truck numbers to display your truck number. An electronic logs on board decal will be required in 2018. A fire extinguisher inside decal is also required to be displayed on the drivers side.
We know, so many decals! But its better to be safe than sorry! Some states and scales can be tough on truckers!
We strongly recommend to display your GVWR, and other regulation numbers to make it easier at checkpoints and scales.
Furthermore, you might consider decals such as IN CASE OF EMERGENCY CHECK SLEEPER or DIESEL FUEL only for many reasons.
